Are you struggling to fill your blog with quality content? Do you see content sellers all over on Facebook in VA groups but scared to buy from them? One of the hardest parts of buying and using PLR (private label rights) is finding a reputable PLR seller.
If you are new to PLR and not sure what it is, read our post What is PLR.

How To Find A Reputable PLR Seller
One would think that all PLR is the same. But sadly, it is not. There are so many sellers online and many of them write poor content. Googling PLR and just buying whatever you find can drain your bank account quickly. Especially if what you buy is lacking quality and you can’t even use it.
Scammers are everywhere online, even in the PLR business. People will take copyrighted content and try to pass it off as PLR. Be careful when buying from random sellers.
Reputable Or Not?
So, how do you know if the PLR seller is reputable or not? There are many ways you can tell if a seller is legit. Chances are you are a blogger, and in many blogging groups. Ask others, search out legit reviews, and use Google to see if there is anything bad posted about a seller or business.
Let’s explore other ways to ensure you’re buying from the right places.
Learn About The Creators And Sellers
This is the easiest way to ensure you are buying from a seller that takes their job seriously. Search out creators and sellers on social media. Maybe Facebook groups, or their business Facebook page. Find out how they deal with the public, deal with you, and how they promote their product.
- Join Their Email Lists – Get on every potential PLR seller’s email list and read the email messages you get. Don’t mark their lists as spam either. If you get them and don’t want to be on it any longer just unsubscribe.
- Join Their Chat Communities – Many PLR sellers invite their customers to join online communities like Facebook Groups or others. This is an excellent way to get to know the sellers. Learn about them as well as their customers and see any complaints sooner rather than later.
- Ask Your Colleagues – If you have built or belong to an online community of other people who are building businesses using content marketing, many of your colleagues may use PLR and just haven’t revealed it. Ask them who they use and get recommendations from the people you know.

Purchase Samples
Yes, you can ask to purchase a sample if you are worried about the quality of the content. Before buying a big package, always try out a smaller package. Some sellers even offer a freebie or a sample on their site so you can see their writing style. Plus, you’ll get a look up close of the PLR licenses and terms of service for that company.
Samples are a good way to know if what you are buying fits what you are looking for. Not every sellers PLR, even though their work is quality, will jive with your writing or blogging style.
Due to the nature of PLR, most sellers don’t offer refunds on purchased content. So, when in doubt, ask for a sample. Do keep in mind though that PLR is meant to be a starting point and edited to fit your blog or writing style so it’s not going to be exactly as you would have written it. That is what makes it PLR.
Check For Copyright
PLR content should be written by the seller. Many times a writer might try to sneak and use content from other sites and pass it off as their own. This is a huge no-no.
However, many times PLR is written using facts found online. A good PLR writer will always use accurate facts so certain parts of a PLR article might seem stolen but in fact are not. Information like operating hours, costs, and milage are the same across the board.
If ever in doubt you can always use a copyright checker to see if the whole article is copied or not. There is a ton of content out there on the world wide web and it’s very common to have similar wording, but what you don’t want is a word for word copied article. That is also why when buying PLR you never just copy/paste as is. You always edit to fit your website and your writing style.
Legit Websites
There are literally hundreds of PLR Content websites out there and yet many are not legit. As I touched on before, there are many scammers online.
In this day and age every website you purchase from should be a secure site. If the site doesn’t have an HTTPS lock that tells you the site is not secure. Try not to shop unsecure sites unless you have friends or colleagues that have told you that seller is ok.

Final Thoughts on Finding a Reputable PLR Seller
The most important thing is find out about the seller and interact with them and their clients online if you can.
There will always be people who might dislike a particular seller or the sellers content, as it’s not easy to make everyone happy. The unhappy people tend to be the ones leaving reviews, while the happy ones keep more quiet. Maybe that’s because the happy clients don’t want others to know where the awesome sellers are. Right? (kidding, not kidding?)
Anyhow, a seller should be an open book, and there to make sure you are happy. If they are not readily available if you have questions, and you never see or hear from them in groups, just beware.
